Overview
Wardian London is a development under construction at Arrowhead Quay on the Isle of Dogs, London. The scheme consists of two skyscrapers and was approved by Tower Hamlets council in November 2014. Upon completion, Wardian London will be one of the tallest residential developments in the United Kingdom. We were employed to construct the surface water outfalls and associated chambers.
The proposed excavation routes were CAT scanned every 200m to locate any existing services. Our Limpet Cofferdam was mobilised to site and secured to the dock wall, to ensure a dry working environment, approximately 4m below the water level. Diamond drilling equipment was utilised to core through the existing dock wall, for the installation of 4 x 450mm diameter outfall pipes. Pipework was installed and grouted into place, with flap valves installed on the river side of the excavation.
